This is most likely a side effect of the new client version trying to connect to the old version of CS:CZ and will be resolved when the beta is pushed to windows.
Another error: "You have been disconnected from the server: Bad file Server is enforcing file consistency models/player.mdl". I've tried different servers and error is the same. I think that might have something with inconsistencies between Windows & Linux versions, when server is asking for files, Linux version doesn't find them - I'll see if I can do something about it.
BTW - those script files seem to be downloaded by request from server.
Another screenshot:
There are two files "player.mdl" in Steam directory, but both don't work; Windows version doesn't have this file at all (in normal filesystem). Possibly Tele42 is right, I'll just have to wait until all changes are propagated.
I was able to find a server which allowed me to join and I can see the game play but some other problems raised - HUD is not readable (I'll check if it's a known problem and possibly file another issue).
Still there are some servers that will not allow me to join with described here error message, maybe new CS server version was pushed and not everyone updated...
After removing Counter Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero and reinstalling Condition Zero it seems like bug disappeared.
Nothing extracted yet.
When trying to connect to a server I get an error: "Cannot continue without script events/awp.sc, disconnecting".
Don't know if any other info would be important, I've installed earlier Counter Strike & Counter Strike:Source. I've tried to remove files from: Steam/SteamApps/common/Counter-Strike/cstrike/events, but that didn't help.
Next thing: I will try to see how it's organized on Windows version.
System: Kubuntu 12.10 (amd64), nvidia 313 drivers.
