Can't login because the text box not responding

I just install steam for linux this afternoon. but after the software self-updated, I can't type anything in text box (both username and password labels ) . My operating system is ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit edition), and it was upgraded from 10.04, maybe this may give a litte help for you guys.

I quess you can type, but it's lagging a lot. Try again. I had the same issue.

Are you still experiencing this issue? If so please re-open it and provide your window manager and hardware info.

I am still experiencing such difficulties. I am in Mint Linux 13 (32 bit), Gnome with Cinnamon as window manager and a Lenovo X201 laptop. Thanks!
