The Linux client doesn't handle complex scripts, and this appears to be a collection of characters that would not be handled properly. This is definitely a shortcoming in the client but won't be fixed soon.

Some unusual characters like ๖ۣۜ (example name ๖ۣۜSir Ircza The Prophet) don't work right in the friend list and chat. It's from this profile.
