I'm using Steam on Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit (Linux 3.7.0-7-generic) with Unity and 313.xx Nvidia drivers. When I start Half-Life, the Steam dialog appears, closes, but no game window is visible on any workspace.

But it is running, because Steam won't let me run it again and pgrep shows this:

$ pgrep -l hl
6916 hl.sh
6919 hl_linux

If I then run kill 6919, then the windows comes up partially blacked out and unresponsive. The only way to close it is to kill it with SIGKILL.

Any help would be appreciated!

This is maybe related to issue #2065 ?

This bug is no longer reproducible on my machine, maybe it was just a minor hiccup.

I'll close it under the guise of it being non-reproducible, but should it arise again (and should that instance provide additional information) or should it repeat consistently, I'll re-open it.

Nothing extracted yet.
