Similar to other problems with other games: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/968

I have defined an alternate library folder with plenty of space but when trying to install Left 4 Dead 2, it won't actually let me choose my alternate library folder.

L4D2 isn’t available for Linux, is this issue #16 or are you using another platform? #50 is another issue, but I didn’t think L4D2 had that limitation.

Sorry, this is on Windows 8!

This really belongs on a forum or at very least over at ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games, but even then, there's been no L4D/L4D2 bugs on it becuse it was initially made for games on Linux using early versions of the Source engine (TF2/CS:S/HL2:DM, etc).

The issue is probably cross-platform and seems to have a few games in its grip. Patience here will be your friend.

Closing as it's currently invalid, but it may be worth commenting on #50 that it's happening on Windows now... and in a game it shouldn't be happening in (L4D2).
