When starting Team Fortress 2 the "launching game" popup appears and steam crashes:

Yes, without a dump I'm not sure that we'll be able to narrow down what's happening.

The crash appears to be in fglrx_dri so you're having a problem with your AMD video driver. If you're not running the latest try and get the latest, otherwise report this to AMD.
