Normally, double clicking a word selects the word, and the following click selects the whole line. It works in text editors, browsers, chat programs etc.
But not in Steam on Linux. Double-clicking selects a word, but the third click does nothing. The issue exhibits itself anywhere in Steam, including chat windows and even the integrated browser.
Interesting peculiarity: it does somewhat work if you move the mouse cursor right before performing the third click. It will select the line that was clicked last, even if it's a different line from where you double-clicked.
Has been confirmed in Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit and Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit.
