I installed the betas of Opposing Force and Blue Shift to try them out, and discovered that the mouselook was completely borked. The camera turns at maybe three frames per second and very very slowly. I'd have to drag the mouse all the way across my desk just to turn 90 degrees. I experimented with turning raw mouse input off; no change. I turned the mouse sensitivity all the way up; barely affected it. Half-Life works just fine. It's not a graphics issue, because WASD movement is smooth and responsive.
Here's what little of my system information might be relevant:
Operating System Version:
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS (64 bit)
Kernel Name: Linux
Kernel Version: 3.2.0-29-generic
X Server Vendor: The X.Org Foundation
X Server Release: 11103000
X Window Manager: KWin
Steam Runtime Version: steam-runtime-release-i386_2013-03-25
And I'm using an early Microsoft USB Intellimouse, maybe late '90s-early 2000s. If you know how I would find a dump of what Linux knows about my mouse, I'll be happy to provide that.
