i have libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 in system but i have ubuntu raring and nou quantal or is not major?
@dimazanyat you seem to have misunderstood, there is no feature-complete driver for the Intel GM4500 on linux, there's hints that mesa is being worked on to improve this GPU and that it could be fixed up to the point where it fully renders the source engine, but as of this writing, there is no solution available. The issue is not related to locale or steam settings. Near the end of issue report 19 that I linked: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/19#issuecomment-16018294 is as good as it gets right now.

Thanks for reporting, this is an issue with the intel driver. There’s not much to do ’cept wait for mesa to improve in that regard. Closing as a duplicate of https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/19
