The automatically created launcher in my Unity menu only has the default icon. Even though when I'm opening Dash Home and type in "steam" I see the correct icon.

Removing the launcher, starting Steam using Dash Home and then locking the launcher gave me a launcher with correct icon. But still the first icon created after installing the .deb package did not have an icon.

As far as I have been able to determine, this is a launcher bug. If you log off and log back on, the icon will be correct.

You can also use the command "unity &disown" in terminal. This happens for all non Ubuntu store .deb packages.

Nothing extracted yet.
