I was given a key for Dungeon Defenders, but when redeeming it, Steam crashed. The "redemption" did work successfully, however, and I seem to own the game. I do not have any logs or anything, unfortunately...
This is not a duplicate of #16. That bug refers to Steam installing Windows versions of programs, this refers to the client crashing (or hanging, whatever) after redeeming a code.
Based on how Steam works on our side of the transaction, your issue is closely related to the Store configuration issue of #16. Once we determine the cause, your main issue (redemption of unsupported Steam for Linux games) will not occur.
If you encounter further crashes while activating products then please reopen or create a new bug if there is not an existing bug.

I was redeeming various Humble Indie Bundle keys and the client crashed after 7 or so key redeems.
I'm not sure if there's any sort of debugging log but I'd be happy to send it if they're stored anywhere. I was had a couple of active downloads at the time which may be relevant.
