Steam gets updated twice at the same time, launching directly a game and later the steam client.

System : Ubuntu 13.04 64 bits, AMD Radeon 7750, Intel Ivi Bridge, 16GB RAM blablah...

Steps (this works only if you have a non updated steam client, at day 2013-05-07):
1 - Run (for example) 'The Book of Unwritten Tales'
2 - Before the game is launched (you have time, the game is wating for an update)... try to launch the Steam client.
3 - The you get the following (attached image).

This is expected, although not ideal. Some day it might improve, but not in the near term.
