I tried out the original HL1 game on my Linux box (i5 3550, 8GB1600Mhz, GTX 660, Nvidia 319.x, Ubuntu 13.04) and I experienced this rather strange bug. I noticed after a loading scene that I was involuntarily moving to the left and I couldn't do anything about; as if someone was holding down the left ('A') button permanently.
I tried to replicate and could easily do so by if holding down either 'a', 'w', 's' or 'd' key during a load. My keyboard is a just a standard USB keyboard so nothing special.
I tried looking at the logs to see if there are any stack traces but I couldn't find anything out of the blue.
