As the title says, the Payload cart's glow effect ghosts off cart and impairs vision quite a bit. The only solution I've found is to completely disable the cart glow in the settings. Though, the glow effect does help determine where it is.

The below screenshot is a bit extreme, but it's as bad as it can get after looking around or when it happens to pop up while I'm pushing the cart.

HI @Squidamatron thanks for reporting. I was going to move this to our Source repo when I noticed this existing bug https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/596 is that the behaviour you see with the cart outline?

SSquidamatron 2013-06-09 github

@johndrinkwater Yes! I had seen that and only noticed the mention of HDR, so I didn't notice the images below the first one they posted. I had heard HDR caused awful bugs and slow downs on ATI/AMD GPU's, so I left it disabled [this was back when Steam and TF2 first launched]. I'll check that next time I get the chance. Otherwise, with HDR off, it's exactly what I've experienced.

The simplest solution I found for me was simply to turn off the cart outline, see the following commands:

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/2579

The specific command that I used was: glow_outline_effect_enable "0"

This turns off the glow on map items like intel, cart, etc.

Your original problem helped me diagnose the problem though!

happens to me too with 13.4 Catalyst.

Catalyst 13.1 doesn't have this problem.

Closing since the Source-1-Games issue covers this.
