When I click on the Store tab and select any game to open it's store page. The client immediately crashes.

I have the same thing. I submitted a support ticket to Steam support (https://support.steampowered.com/view.php?ticketref=4170-FXVB-6207) and was redirected here.
In the meantime I updated my client to 7-09-13, but the problem persists in the same way.
I included terminal output of Steam in that ticket. It looks as if it uploaded a crash report to somewhere, but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm that?

We’re currently tracking a crashing issue related to games pages with videos in #2365 on AMD hardware.
@slyguy42o would you provide more system information as we request, so we can see if it is that bug on a new one.

@johndrinkwater : so it is confirmed that my problem is that bug?

AMD Phenom 2 with an AMD 700 series (might be 770) chipset GeForce 220 GT video. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with latest updates. I checked the logs and wasn't able to find anything related even when looking in the system console.

Let me know if there are any other details I can provide.

resolved

hello, if this issue is resolved, could you kindly advise me how to apply the resolution on my install of Steam?
I am still on the same version and it's not updating itself.

Do you have an AMD based system? also are you running 12.04 LTS?

Bbennypr0fane 2013-07-24 github

AMD based, yes. LTS, no. I run Lubuntu 13.04.
details of my system:
I run Lubuntu 13.04 with Gnome shell 3.8.
The steam client build is July 9th 13:49:41
API ver 012
package version 1370553818

After I start the client, my library page is shown. Then I switch to the shop. The client crashes as soon as I click on one of the links in the shop.

my steam binary is dated July 19th.

There is an update client option under the "Steam" menu you can try.

Bbennypr0fane 2013-07-25 github

It won't update, it says it's the newest version. The repo that it
comes from is Ubuntu Precise. Is there also a Raring repo?

Are you getting yours from the repo, or did you download from the
website?
