Could it have coincided with your 325 nvidia update?
No. Out of curiosity before replying I went through the process of downgrading from 325 all the way to 319.17, testing each one after the downgrade. 319.17 was the last known working state where community gave no issues. The result was the same as 325. No games will launch if they are non-valve games. Valve games launch to a black screen with no response, the black screen does not actually generate a process either... Just a hung window with a black screen. Currently, I am remaining on 319.17 as it was last known working state... However, the problem still exists.
Maybe this is related to the addition of the 64bit overlay. Does your dmesg or auditlog mention anything triggering when you launch a game?
I have the same symptoms and turning off the Steam Community fixes the issue for me, too.
When the Steam Community is enabled I noticed Steam tries to start its own PulseAudio server instance. If I kill the new instance then a game will start to load but eventually everything hangs and I see it tried to start another instance.
When the Community is disabled Steam doesn't try to start its own PA server.
I'm not sure why Steam wants to start a PA server or why this worked under Fedora 18 but is now "broken" on Fedora 19.
Identical to Mooninite are my symptoms as well. Still no fix and still no status updates. Could we at least know a possible fix, seeing as this is hampering our capacity to play games for which we have paid?

Upon latest fedora update to kernel 3.10.6, the games will launch again if the community is disabled. Still no way to launch with community enabled.

Hello,
All valve games do not properly load if you allow steam to have overlay enabled. Issue started shortly after a recent steam update. Games will not even start a process, but rather load a black screen that results in the screen needing to be killed. Subsequently, non-steam games will stay on splash screens and never load or do nothing if they lack a splash screen. Disabling overlay resolves the issue. However, once the games do launch it is worth noting that they are laggy and generally play very poorly in comparison to prior to this issue.
