When chatting with friends in Steam or trading, the client crashes. The client then redownloads the most recent update when I manually restart.

Would you run steam from the terminal and provide the whole output from launch to crash. Do you have audio notifications on for chat messages? If so would you disable them from steam settings and see if it reproduces.

The latest crash is in Miles, so you might be hitting the issue where Miles crashes due to selinux enforcement. Do you have any selinux events?

unfortunately i'm in the middle of moving, and won't be able to look at
this for about a month.
