Hi there,
I had thought to make a guide to help those get started on a Linux install for Steam, primarily for those familiar with Windows, alas the Steam Community page says I do not on "Steam for Linux" and cannot make a post:

This isn't a Linux issue, it's a Steam backend question, but I've passed it on and we'll see where it goes.

From what I heard this should be fixed sometime today so that you will be able to create a guide.
