Hi,
I tried to resolve this problem through steam support and I'm still having an issue with it. Whenever I try to browse a game in steam specifically, as soon as I enter the game screen, steam crashes immediately. The other tech people said it was because flash was not setup correctly. I have followed the instructions to the 9's but steam still crashes immediately. The funny thing is that the client works fine on my laptop. I'm wondering if its just because my processor is and old AMD K6 2.

Are you running the stable Steam client or the Steam client beta? The old AMD processor issue is supposed to be fixed, but I think the fix is only in the beta at the moment. If you subscribe to the beta and update do you still see the problem?

I don't think I tried the beta yet. How do I get back on the beta channel?

In the client open the main 'Steam' menu and pick 'Settings'. On the 'Account' tab in the middle there's a section called 'Beta participation'. Choose 'Change' and select the Steam Beta Update. You'll have to restart and it will update itself to the beta as part of restarting.

Ok, I just tried the beta version and it works! I guess it was the old AMD
chip. The chip is also dragging on Ubuntu 13.04 anyway. Good work.
