A future Steam client (not sure when) will address the daisy-wheel coming up when it shouldn't in the second case.
Are you still seeing this with the latest beta client?
Nope, works thanks, but I found something else I think :) There only fit 6 tabs on the current screen and you can not scroll or move down to see others so you can only use the new tab button.

There are 2 different new tab screens, when you click the new tab square or the new tab button on the bottom of the screen. One opens blank other opens a xbox controller overview.
