I looked up OP's crash id to take a look. It is deep inside the AMD driver. I recommend making sure you have the latest driver for your hardware.

What drivers are you guys using? I updated the drivers from 13.4 to 13.8 (FGLRX) and I started getting this issue. Using Arch Linux x64, AMD A10-5800k APU.

UPDATE:

So I updated FGLRX from 13.8 to the 13.10 beta, and Steam no longer crashes (not using the Steam Beta Client program). I'm going ot test it with the beta program and see if it still happens.

But it looks like it's an issue with FGLRX 13.8, so if you can, update to 13.10 beta or downgrade.
