I should note I just started participating in the beta client program. I just found the Steam Client Beta group which offers bug reporting there. Shall I post here or there?
This only started happening once you enter the client beta? Can you confirm by opting out of beta, and retesting please.
I tried reverting to the stable steam client, then entered big picture and exited numerous times. I tried selecting many different screens in big picture before exiting. I tried leaving the large interface maximized, minimized, etc before entering big picture then exiting. I'm sorry, but I can no longer recreate the issue. I've gone back to the steam client beta, and still can't reproduce the bug.
Hello @nightsky30, have you seen this issue since the initial incident?
Hey @kisak-valve, I do still have this system lying around. It has not functioned as my main system for a while, but I can throw the latest Ubuntu/Nvidia/Steam versions on there and test it out.
I am no longer using the Unity DE. Ubuntu is not continuing new development on Unity after 17.04, however, Unity will still live on with 16.04 for quite a while. So maybe this is still relevant for the time being for those people who stick with 16.04 and Unity.
Let me give it a shot.
And also I guess it might not be a Unity issue at all, but perhaps Nvidia/Steam...
@kisak-valve, I can't reproduce the bug. It could have been fixed in many ways. Thank you. Closing.
Nothing extracted yet.
The large mode window was invisible after exiting big picture mode. Hovering over menu items still produced menus. Opening up child windows worked, and they could be placed behind the invisible main steam window.
