This off-by-one quirk only occurs with two uppercase glyphs adjoining each other, not limited to "P."

Example: the "A"s in PAYDAY:The Heist listed in the games list also shows this quirk.

Maybe it would be best to use a standard widget toolkit like QT or GTK+
rather than building your own?

Still no solution?

It's been a while. Would be nice to add to the polish, since my username (front and center) is menaced by the issue (#3549).

On two systems, this issue only appears on one.
The issue exists on an Xubuntu 15.04 based machine, but not on a Debian Stretch-based one

Am having the same issue on Xubuntu 16.04

Still experiencing this on Arch.
No amount of configuration or disabling steam runtimes seems to fix it.

Still an issue. Arch 5.13.13, KDE Plasma 5.22.5

Hello @BenLubar, this issue report is focused on the Steam client. The behavior of games is out of scope for this issue report.

It probably makes more sense to make a note on the compatibility report for that game at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/942. EDIT: It looks like I also noted this issue report on the compatibility report as possibly related. Sorry about the unclear wording.
