Since about 1-2 weeks Steam becomes randomly unresponsive to some click events. This bug occurs randomly when I click trough any part of steam (not a specific section). It can happen with the chat window, but it happens mostly with the main window.

When this bug occurs i can click on large menu (Store, Library, Community, User) but the content of that page doesn't respond to click events. The topmost menu doesn't respond to any click events but the active-state work and gets stuck.

Sometimes this bug also prevents other applications from receiving any click events. It "feels" like steam creates a full-screen transparent window. Alt-tabbing to another window doesn't always fix the problem, but "force closing" (ALT+F4) the main steam window does. (without completing shutting down steam). Restoring the main window reintroduces the bug.

Switching to the beta version of steam doesn't solve it.

I have this too. I'm running Linux Mint 16 with FOSS+Edgers PPA, and I fix it usually by right clicking on one of the Steam sections. (Friends, Library, etc.)

Random info: HP Mouse. Linux 3.13 Generic. FOSS Mesa development libs from Edgers PPA. Everything else is just stock Linux Mint 16 Mate.

Same issue, running Mint 17. Right clicking seems to clear it up.

Hello, is anyone still experiencing this issue on an up to date system?

AAaronBottegal 2017-10-20 github

It's been a long time on this bug request. On Arch Linux with Steam Beta, but have not had this happen recently that I remember.

@kisak-valve, happened around October 17-18 on the text entry field for the confirmation code for the password recovery.
