Since I am on a 3G connection with varying degrees of packetloss and connectivity issues from time to, my login attempts to the Steam network occasionally fails. What is very frustrating is that the password keeps disappearing, requiring me to re-enter it despite Steam normally being able to log in with it remembered. Is this expected behavior or punishment for failing to honor the sacred contract of allowing Steam to phone home at a whim?

It runs under a separate account from my main user account for privacy and safety reasons.

Happens quite often...very irritating.

I suspect this happens because they never coded a distinction, client-side, between failure to log in because of network error and failure to log in because of invalid username/password.

Nothing extracted yet.
