The repository steam uses on thrusty is a precise repository.

An other problem I encountered with this is when doing a "sudo apt-get update" It keeps hanging at 100%.

Removing the steam ppa from "software sources" in "settings" solved this problem.

  1. Issue reproduced on Mint Petra - Steam uses precise although saucy should have been used.

  2. Issue reproduced on Mint Petra. Reload (via Synaptic) status "stuck". Upon cancelling, received:

"Failed to fetch http://repo.steampowered.com/steam/dists/precise/steam/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
Failed to fetch http://repo.steampowered.com/steam/dists/precise/steam/i18n/Translation-en.bz2

Removing the Steam repo resolves this issue.

Is that still a problem? We had a few issues with the server a few days ago.

The issue is resolved. At least for my setup.

Thanks!

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 about 1 month ago and I have recently started to experience this problem too. When I run sudo apt-get update in the terminal it gets stuck with the message 100% [Waiting for headers].

However, apt-get update works fine if I comment out the following line in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/steam.list:

deb http://repo.steampowered.com/steam/ precise steam

Should it say precise, even though I'm running trusty?

Dunno if these options are different, but I can't remember if I installed Steam via the Ubuntu Software Center or if I installed the .deb from Steam's website.

I have the same problem for about one week. with ubuntu 14.04.1
I had to temporarily deactivate the steam-repo.
What is wrong with http://repo.steampowered.com?

Running 14.04.3 on a fresh install and I have this issue.

Every time I launch steam I am pestered to install some i386 libraries for Mesa. It never finds them. I thought the repo should have a directory listing... Is this correct?
