Issue Description: Dropdown menus in steam store panel show up completely white (black text not visible) in Ubuntu 12.10 x64 with all latest updates applied (as of 12/23/2012). This is a fresh install with only steam and ia32-libs installed.
Steps to Reproduce: Click any game that is considered "mature" and requires entering birthdate to proceed to view in Steam store. All dropdowns in this page look "empty" but are scrollable. You can still chose age by randomly clicking whitespace to see what value it is, and "guestimate" where to click until you eventually find the correct year/month/etc... Once a value is selected, the unopened dropdown box will correctly display the field with black text instead of white on white (effectively invisible), but dropping down the list shows all other values as white text on white background.
Note: Normal dark (steam theme) dropdown boxes (i.e. at the bottom of a game page, to select "shop by category" or the like) correctly display text and background in their correct color values. This only appears to affect age dropdowns or possibly any dropdown with a white background.
This may be a default system configuration issue, however I have not noticed this in any other dropdown that uses the systems default theming (i.e. in firefox, system software center, etc...) for rendering a dropdown. only steam seems to exhibit this behavior as far as I have experienced.
