Switch to libdev.so.1

Would it be possible to switch from libdev.so.0, to the more recent libdev.so.1? I have symlinked libdev.so.1 to libdev.so.0, but Steam still gives this error message when I start it with the "STEAM_RUNTIME=0" command.

/home/jukilo420_-/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steamwebhelper: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.0: 
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is there a reason that Steam still continues to use libdev.so.0? Could you just switch to libdev.so.1?
