Steam 1355957371 / 1355973... (according to about dialog), 1.0.0.18 (according to dpkg-deb -I steam_latest.deb). There should really be a steam --version command, or even better a steam --support-info that also gets X -version, lsb_release -a, etc.

After launching Steam for the second time and starting the installation of the game FTL, which I already had a license for, the Steam UI froze after I closed the "game is downloading" dialog. In the logs, the following appeared:

I was able to terminate Steam with control-C in the terminal I'd launched it from, and it continued the download fine when restarted.

I haven't been able to reproduce this error since. I'll follow up if it recurs. In the mean time, it's here for others to find if they have the same problem.
