Currently

man steam

returns a stub manual page that is not helpful. Could you guys please explain in that page:

  • commandline switches (-steamos, --reset, this is the only ones that I know)
  • steam URLs such as steam://store
  • Environment variables (STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE)
  • Default configs location and/or structure of steam directory

Thank you.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I expected to have a complete offline Steam Launcher's Manual by the man 6 steam command in the terminal.

The man 6 steam command "returns a stub manual page that is not helpful" to quote @pashazz.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Run this command lines in the terminal :
cd
man 6 steam

Suggestion :

  1. Write a very more complete manpage steam.6 about :
  • steam arguments such as -tenfoot,
  • Steam URLs (steam://),
  • environment variables such as STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE,
  • main Steam files and repositories such as ${XDG_DATA_HOME}/Steam/,
  • Steam Console commands,
  • Skin (GUI) customization for Steam.

Comments :

I started myself a new edition of the Steam Launcher's manual but I can't do a pull request.
