I'm still having this issue too... it's been over a month. Arch Linux x86_64 using multi-lib libraries and STEAM_RUNTIME=0
Hello @timonoj, are you still experiencing this issue on an up to date system?
Not at the moment, last time I had to install it, it went flawlessly... but
then again, I changed distributions and everything since then. Hard to
replicate the issue now...

Hi guys,
Maybe you can help me a bit here, as I'm pulling my hair not being able to find any solution to this. Steam shows for a fraction of a second the updater window, then crashes immediately. Doesn't even get to the login window.
I'm using Elementary OS Freya Beta 64bits, and a Lenovo y510p, 16GB RAM, 750m SLI and 128GB SSD. nvidia-340 installed.
This is the console output:
timonoj@Timo-PC:~$ steam
Running Steam on elementary os 0.3 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically

I understand the crash might be related to the NSS libraries, since that error line shows immediately after the update window abruptly closes.
Any help will be greatly welcome. Thanks!
