Not sure if related to steamos or more generically the web view in steam for linux, anyway
Affected configuration:
intel i7 4970k, 32gb ram ddr3 1600 corsair, zotac gtx 970, asus z97-A.
connected to a full hd tv via hdmi (so fullhd resolution), latest steamos version
See first screenshot for the settings>system screen

When in big picture mode
use the web browser tab to open the steam store
try any game that requires age check (Eg: Rust)

try selecting any of the 3 dropdown either with the mouse or a controller
(a ps3 one connected via usb in my case)

Expected
the dropdown will render some options to allow selecting

Actual:
the screen turn almost black apart for some weird line at the top left of the screen see :

moving the mouse just a little will show:

moving a bit more will go back to normal:

The modern Big Picture mode allows for easy age verification. Doesn't seem to even be a date selection, but a simple "Are you over 18"

I’d say you can safely close this 10 years old issue that can probably only be reproduced on that specific combination of os / graphics driver / cef anyway. that legacy version of steam os doesn’t even work anymore as far as I understand, so even if you want to reproduce to investigate the root cause you probably can’t.

I don't have the access rights to close issues. You can on the other hand close issues that you've made yourself.
