In Ubuntu 15.04 64bit, I experience the icons being white/grey instead. They are not grouped with the Steam icon, but seem to be unable to show their own icon. At the very least, they are separated from the Steam icon, allowing for easy re-entering of the game window. They function, but just look ugly.

Hello @fishxz, @sabun123, are either of you still experiencing this issue on an up to date system?

hey,
for me on ubuntu 14.10 steam shows the steamicon in the launcher for started games instead of the gameicon. also the name is always "steam" for every launcher game.

this should be half-life not just steam.
btw my steam is minimized to tray (STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE=1), so this is not the steam icon grouped with the game.
this leads me to another question: why does steam always group the game with steam itself on minimized steam (not closed to tray). maybe this is way there are no icons shows while closed to tray.
is the linux version not designed to show game icons and always group with steam itself?
edit: i removed the "STEAM_FRAME_FORCE_CLOSE=1" from the steam.desktop and added it to the autostart command. now it shows me the game icon for counter-strike, but for every other game e.g. dota, torchlight i only see a question mark.
