Also of note, for some reason the package manager wouldn't let me install steam from the package manager? I clicked the link off the steam website to get that far.

I checked these packages, and they're all already installed on my system according to the package manager, but it won't let me run steam because it can't install them.
I'm running Ubuntu 14.04.02 almost completely stock (I've added Scite, VLC, and steam-launcher and changed the wallpaper so far)
