I get the same with STEAM_RUNTIME=0 too.

If anyone needs more info let me know!

Does your dmesg show something like this? I had the same issue too and had to delete the whole thing and redownload.

Thanks guys the "deleting ~/.local/share/Steam/package/beta, then running steam --reset." work around seems to have worked for now

Nevermind, it launched, then updated again, and now it's crashing, at least it's uploading the crash dump now...
