The system information already has most of that, although it doesn't have the filesystem.
Oh, and I wanted it displayed in public survey results. Sorry for not being clearer.
Thanks for the clarification.
It will also be useful to start reporting GL core/compat seperately going forward.
Also Vulkan information would be nice.
Hello.
When I started the steam client on my Ubuntu 18.04 installation, the survey popup appeared, but didn't contain any relevent information. I've a well known laptop (a Dell Latitude E6430) and the steam survey detects "no laptop model detected, no touchpad input, etc". I tried to restart the steam client using "strace" to check what library or software is missing for the detection, but it seems that the client ID traces the "last report date" on your servers.
How can I help you to be more accurate within the survey?
I will try to "strace" the Steam client then upload it.
Hello.
Finally, I seen that the "wrong hardware detection" is also visible from the "Help > System information" menu. Here's what I see:

I also seen the "Steam Linux Runtime container tool" is not present, but I understood this is not mandatory:

I collected about 430Mb of strace. I don't know how to upload that.
Regards.
I too want Linux specific information shown on the "Linux only" dropdown in the public aggregated data. Would be nice to have
Also these are on the wishlist but not that high priority:
Nothing extracted yet.
From the system information tab, the following would be useful:
Kernel Version (including 32 or 64 bit)
X Window Manager (compiz, etc)
OpenGL/Driver Version
Other things worth collecting:
File system
