I'm running Xinerama with Intel HD and nvidia combined. This makes me unable to initiate an OpenGL context, which I'm fine with. The nvidia client, however, is unable to start without an OpenGL context. This is understandable, since it's a gaming platform, but it also makes me unable to reach my Steam friends when I'm running dual head, which is a problem for me.

I don't know how deeply rooted OpenGL is in the Steam client, but I'd greatly appreciate being able to start the Steam client even when I'm not trying to play games.
