Based on this performance report (http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/157jc3/my_tf2_comparison_windows_vs_linux) Team Fortress 2 on Linux should run better than windows with Nvidia GPU, but I can play in Windows at high details with 80-100 fps average, in linux I can't go over 50 fps at low detail.
My specs are Ubuntu 12.10 and Nvidia 8600m GT, I tried both the 310 and the 313 beta drivers. What should I do? Thank you all, expecially Valve :)

Have you tried checking your vsync settings on your window manager and your game client?

HHeratiki 2013-01-19 github

Game client yes but not the window manager. The game client has vsync as
off as well as turning all options to either low or off.

I ask because there have been instances reported of double (and once, even triple) instances of vsync occurring, thus crippling the game's FPS.

I'll check that out and see where I get with it. I'll report anything I
find and thank you for the response and hopefully I'm not keeping you from
doing anything.

Not at all. Please note, I'm just a community member, not actually one of the devs.

No worries I realized right off the bat hehe just happy someone said
anything at all.
