I don't know if it's designed this way for a reason or if it's just an oversight, but currently, the web browser in Steam's Big Picture mode seems to be isolated from the browser that can be accessed from the Steam Overlay while playing a game. It would be better, in my opinion, if it was just one browser instance that could be accessed from both.

To try and clarify what I mean: if I am in Big Picture and go to the browser and open up YouTube or Netflix I can leave it running while I go chat with friends, browse the storefront, or launch games. The audio continues to play in the background, even after launching a game. However, if I want to access what is playing (for whatever reason), I have to quit the game, because the browser in the Overlay does not share the opened tabs as in Big Picture mode.

I hope this makes sense.

This is not applicable with the modern Big Picture Mode as it doesn't have a web browser any more
