Steam controller does not work within Steam after resuming from sleep mode. To resume functionality, Steam must be restarted - however, in this case the Steam process also hangs on exit and must be killed manually. When running with the console visible, the following log message is repeated in a loop:
process 2992: arguments to dbus_connection_ref() were incorrect, assertion "connection->generation == _dbus_current_generation" failed in file ../../dbus/dbus-connection.c line 2656.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
Steam continues to function normally other than the controller not responding (i.e, keyboard controls work, games launch, etc)

This seems to be fixed with yesterday's steam client update. I saw the release notes mention a fix for controller upon resuming from sleep, so I retested and the problem was now gone :-)
