Your system information

  • Steam client version: June 14 2016
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Linux Mint 17.3
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Steam controller does not work within Steam after resuming from sleep mode. To resume functionality, Steam must be restarted - however, in this case the Steam process also hangs on exit and must be killed manually. When running with the console visible, the following log message is repeated in a loop:

process 2992: arguments to dbus_connection_ref() were incorrect, assertion "connection->generation == _dbus_current_generation" failed in file ../../dbus/dbus-connection.c line 2656.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

Steam continues to function normally other than the controller not responding (i.e, keyboard controls work, games launch, etc)

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Plug in a steam controller
  2. Put the computer to sleep
  3. Wake it back up

This seems to be fixed with yesterday's steam client update. I saw the release notes mention a fix for controller upon resuming from sleep, so I retested and the problem was now gone :-)

Thanks!
