Steam: Minor problem with switching windows

I experienced a minor problem when you have the friend-list open and switch back to the main window and then click on the bottom right link to open the friend-list. It opens the window with the friend-list, but as soon as you want to click on anything, the window just disappears disappears. You have to switch to the friend-list via the unity icons manually.
Happened on ubuntu 12.04.

Can't reproduce this. Can you list exact steps? Here's what I did:

click on "view friends list" link in bottom right
click on or alt+tab back to the main window
click on "view friends list" link in bottom right
click on the friends list to do something
