There are several issues with current subforums. They never worked as intended. Here are the issues and a proposed solution so we can get the discussion going.

Issues with current subforums

  1. General subforum is used as main help forum
People don't know where to post for help when they don't know what the issue is, so they post in General. General is used for everything these days.

  2. Too many help subforums
All the separated subforums are used for help and are mostly ignored by majority because of 1. We need one Help subforum.

    http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/5/ NVidia Graphics Cards
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/6/ Intel Graphics Cards
  3. Outdated subforum
Last posts in Limited beta are 4 years old and these discussions are irrelevant to current client and discussions.
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/1/ Limited beta
  4. Ignored subforum
Feature Requests/Recommendations subforum serves no purpose. It is ignored. Here on Github we are told to use main Suggestions/Ideas forum for requests so there is no point in having this subforum.

Proposed solution

Delete Limited beta and Feature Requests/Recommendations subforums. Move all other subforums except General to single Help and Tips subforum so help discussions are consolidated and people know where to ask and get help. This will also separate general discussions from help discussions. These are the only subforums we actually need:

  • General Discussions
  • Help and Tips

Help us help other Linux users. Thank you.

I'll close this now because it's not really a Steam for Linux client issue.

Nothing extracted yet.
