Armello sometimes crashes when starting up. This also causes Steam to crash and sometimes X itself will crash too. It seems to be because when Armello starts it is in a window, the steam overlay loads in this window, then Armello goes full screen. The overlay doesn't work at all in game when it starts without crashing, just showing random stuff flashing over the screen. The overlay works OK in the loading screen window.

Not sure if this is a steam overlay bug because it doesn't handle the resizing properly, or an Armello bug for changing resolutions incorrectly. I have reported this on the Armello forum too.

  1. Set Armello video settings to full screen
  2. Start the game
  3. Open the overlay

Hello @af7567, if you happen to find any related CrashIDs or minidumps, please include them in this issue report. Minidumps are commonly found in /tmp/dumps/ and you can put them in an archive and drag and drop the archive into the comment box.

Hi, I just got it to crash again but it doesn't have a chance to create a minidump. The only thing I have is the messages from the bottom of the _stdout.txt file. Although this time X crashed as well.

This seems to be fixed now in the current versions of Armello and Steam Client Beta.

Nothing extracted yet.
