Windows-only games should not be advertized as being for Mac/Linux! This will lead to people buying games they can't play.

Oh, also, in those images you can see the Call of Duty franchise on sale, that too has the SteamOS icon even though none of the games run on Linux!

This issue has persisted for awhile. Another example from a year ago: https://i.imgur.com/08XxOwN.png this game also is Windows-only.

False advertising is actually illegal. This could be characterized as a bait-and-switch scheme by the FTC.

Please fix this issue; don't allow announcements to display on platforms that they don't work on.

Sincerely, a concerned Steam user.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open Big Picture
  2. Go to notifications
  3. There's a chance that you'll see non-Linux games show up, and they'll have the SteamOS icon.
