Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Get offered to participate in the hardware survey.
  2. Agree to participate.
  3. Steam crashes.

Same here. Crash occurs not immediately after agreeing to participate but some time after Steam gathers yuor system info. Then in 1-3 seconds it crashes.

May not be related, froze on my system until i turning of port 80/8080 being blocked by the firewall
