The "(Friend) is now playing (game)" notification seems laggy

For about a month the color change on the 'is now playing' hasn't been gradual at all. In this video when I recorded it happening it went straight from full lighting to darkened. https://i.imgur.com/kz4GQua.mp4 Sometimes it makes the color change in 2 intervals. If you put your mouse on the notification it goes back to full lighting

Hello @Managor, did you make a major system change around the time you started noticing this? Maybe updating to Ubuntu 17.10?
