Just wanted to write that the Getting Stared, more precisely the 4th step isn't actually right.
So as to install Steam for Linux Package with gdebi, in the right folder, with the right .deb linked, the command-line becomes gdebi steam_latest.deb

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Download the .deb file linked (steam_latest.deb)
2. Install gdebi
3. Use gdebi steam.deb
