When playing a game (Rocket League), when i use the built-in browser of the overlay, the overlay disappair and i cant re-open it until i close then i re-open the game.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open a game.
  2. Open the overlay then the built-in browser.
  3. Wait for it to crash.

Hello @theo546, please copy your system information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report. In particular, if you can find any CrashIDs or minidumps related to this issue (commonly found in /tmp/dumps/), please include them as well.

This issue has been around for a while. Possibly related to #4933.

and btw, when the overlay crash, the game is still running, no freeze, i can still play, but i just cant use the overlay

Same here, the overlay crashed in CSGO, but the game continued to function. I think this is the same as my report here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/csgo-osx-linux/issues/1623

I'll close mine as it does not appear to be game specific, and we have this issue here in the steam-for-linux section.
