I have the same problem with Trine 2.

The Steam window works perfectly well (moving, maximizing, un-maximizing), so I don't think this is related to #102 . Also, Team Fortress 2 runs on the right display, which is the primary display.
BTW I'm using LXDE desktop.
The primary monitor to the right has a resolution of 1680 x 1050
The secondary monitor to the left has a resolution of 1280 x 1024
#296 and #22 might be related. SS3 always launches on the left display. The first startup had a strange resolution. Looked like the right part of the picture was cut away. Maybe the picture was sized for the primary display but shown in the secondary display? However, the correct resolution of 1280 x 1024 can be selected in game settings, and then the game is playable. Still it always launches on the left monitor, I haven't found a way to change that.
You're running LXDE which uses openbox for it's window manager.... that may be part of the issue.
I am using KDE, same problem.

Closing old non-Valve issue (can still be found in search).
Nothing extracted yet.
When I start Trine 2 in fullscreen mode, the game expands itself over both monitors. I would expect it to use the primary monitor only. TF2 works that way on my machine.
In windowed mode the game works fine.
