after steam updated itself today, after not using it for a long time, it is not willing to start anymore whatever ive done

Hello @DebianSteamie, BYieldingCompleteSteamControllerRegistration - Error committing registration completion of controller & account pair. looks like a line of interest in the terminal spew. Does steam start with your xbox 360 controller disconnected?

For reference, the majority of the attached minidumps are SIGABRT in linux-gate.so.
